Skin Pores are not a problem per se. Everyone has pores on the skin which are essential for the skin to be properly ventilated. However, the problem starts when these pores become bigger and bigger. People with oily skin are more susceptible to this. Prolonged sun exposure is one of the primary culprits when it comes to opening of pores. Again, they are not really a health concern per se; but for the beauty conscious, it could be one of the worst things ever. Open pores contribute to acne, blackheads and the like, none of which are desirable. It is therefore in your best interests to get them treated. There are a number of commercial products that are available for the same, but it is best to avoid them. These products typically have a lot of chemicals which will do more harm than good for your skin in the long run. In this article, we shall look at 5 natural remedies that you can safely try to treat skin pores.
1) Use Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar is extremely beneficial for your skin. It has known benefits in helping to cleanse the skin, moisturize it and close the pores. All you need to do is take a tablespoon of water and a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar. Mix both so that the Apple Cider Vinegar is diluted (not doing so could harm your skin as it might be too acidic). Take a soft cotton ball and dip it in the mixture. Apply this to the affected areas. You do not need to do this too often. Once a day or once in two days should be more than adequate. You could dilute the Apple Cider Vinegar more if you have sensitive skin.
2) Use Banana Peels
Bananas are not only nutritious to eat, but their peels are also loaded with benefits. Wash a peel of banana with clean water and gently use the inside of the peel on the affected areas. This will refresh your skin and is beneficial in closing your pores. You could do this every second or third day.
3) Use Lemon Juice
Lemon juice is one of those seemingly magical ingredients that seems to be beneficial for every other ailment. It turns out that its high citric acid content helps in cleansing the pores. As with the Apple Cider Vinegar, dilute 1 tablespoon of lemon with a tablespoon of water. Use a cotton ball to apply it to the affected areas. Once a day or once every second day should be sufficient. Use more water to dilute the lemon juice if you have sensitive skin.
4) Use Yoghurt
Yoghurt is a tried and tested remedy for blemishes and dark spots. Take a small cup of yogurt and apply it to the affected areas. Wash it off with water that is neither too hot nor too cold.Do not do this too often. Once a week should be sufficient.
